Our improved transmission warranty helps you sell more units with greater customer confidence

Selling remanufactured transmissions at your shop just got even easier. We recently expanded our stress-free “3-year, 100,000-mile” warranty to an amazing “3-year, unlimited-milage” warranty. So your customers get the same high-quality units, at no additional costs.

Helping auto repair shops earn higher profits with less stress

At ACE Transmissions, we always look for ways to simplify things for our shop owners. That’s why, over the next two months, we’re announcing the rollout of two amazing features that benefit our wholesale buyers and distributors. Today, we’ll discuss our expanded warranty program.

(You’ll have to wait until next month to read the second announcement – it’s a real game-changer!)

Our remanufactured transmission warranty has always covered parts and labor – nationwide. But it was limited to 3 years or 100,000 miles, whichever came first. It now covers each unit for 3 years, no matter how many miles the customer drives during that timeframe.

Virtually all of our competitors have warranty options limited to the first three years after purchase. Their warranties usually cover 100,000 miles, but some offer unlimited mileage in certain cases. However, several factors make the ACE Transmission warranties a better choice.

We take the confusion out of transmission warranties

First of all, our warranties are straightforward and easy to understand.

Simplicity in our industry is uncommon. If you go to the websites of most competitors, you’ll find that their warranties are buried in tons of complicated rules:

  • Many different warranties with varying amounts of coverage.
  • Extra fees for warranty coverage over 100,000 miles (or for better labor reimbursement)
  • Different coverage for commercial and private use.
  • Voided warranty if used in competition, racing events, or off-road.
  • Different coverage based on the model and age of the vehicle.
  • Arbitrary caps on labor costs.
  • Pages of rules, stipulations, and qualifications that must be met.

These overly complicated rules are bad business for your shop. Complexity confuses your staff, it makes it hard to explain the warranty to your customers, and it puts you at risk of paying for expensive repairs after a unit failure.

ACE keeps it simple

You don’t have to be a lawyer to understand our warranty rules because we keep it very simple:

  • Every unit we sell is covered for 3 years, with unlimited mileage, at no additional cost.
  • Alternatively, your customer can request an 18-month, 18,000-mile warranty – it’s the same unit, just a slightly lower price.
  • As long as an installation error didn’t cause the unit failure, you’re covered. We pay for the entire replacement unit and the labor costs.

That’s it!

Wow your customers with an amazing nationwide warranty

Since we remanufacture most of our transmissions in our own factory, we’re confident each unit will stand the test of time. That’s why we include a fantastic warranty at no extra charge. You get to offer this great selling point to your customers and look like a hero!

  • Gain customer confidence
  • Close more sales, faster
  • Protect your profits
  • Get nationwide coverage

Going above and beyond for your customers

This warranty includes every fully remanufactured transmission unit we build in our factory. We also cover reman units that we occasionally purchase from a third-party vendor.

We want to make this simple and easy for your shop and your customers.

What if my customer is traveling?

Remember, we have a nationwide warranty. So your customers can get help with a failed transmission at any shop in the country.

If the failed unit is being serviced at someone else’s shop, then your shop is still in control of the warranty process – you act as the middleman between ACE and the third-party shop. Your customer will appreciate the extra effort you put into “service after the sale.”

Why “unlimited” mileage matters

Of course, most people don’t drive more than 100,000 miles in a year. In fact, nearly all unit failures happen within the first 18 months and 18,000 miles. So, you may ask, what is the point of changing the warranty to “unlimited” mileage?

This warranty expansion serves two main purposes:

  1. High-use coverage:
This warranty provides better coverage for even the most extreme driving scenarios. An unlimited mileage warranty covers vehicles that routinely crisscross the nation, such as over-the-road trucking fleets and “hotshot” delivery drivers. These businesses put a lot of miles on their vehicles, and they can’t afford to lose time dealing with warranty terms that are overly complicated, limited, or slow to process.
  2. More sales at your shop:
Even if a customer knows they won’t drive 100K miles in the next three years, there is something psychologically calming about the word “unlimited.” That’s why phone companies offer unlimited calls, streaming services offer unlimited binging of your favorite shows, and restaurants offer unlimited trips to the salad bar. The word “unlimited” equals happy customers and more sales.

Easy, fast warranty claims

When a unit fails, you want to solve the problem quickly to please your client. That’s why we make warranty claims simple and efficient. Here are the basic steps:

  1. Submit a claim.
  2. Our warranty specialists will contact you to answer your questions and walk you through any necessary diagnostic tests.
  3. They will usually direct you to order a replacement unit from our inventory of ready-to-use remanufactured transmissions. (We often ship on the same business day).
  4. When you receive the replacement, put the failed unit in the same shipping tote and return it to our factory.
  5. Our warranty team will inspect the failed unit to determine the cause of the failure.
  6. If it is determined to be a covered failure, we reimburse you for the replacement unit plus the labor costs.

How much does the warranty pay for labor?

Some transmission vendors cap their warranty labor payouts at an arbitrary amount, like $250.

But we pay labor costs at $70 per hour. We understand that the time it takes to install a transmission can vary based on the model. That’s why we don’t impose a generic timeframe on the labor costs. We use the Mitchell 1 Labor Times as an auto industry standard for estimating how long each unit replacement should take.

How long does the warranty reimbursement take to process?

After you receive the replacement unit, you’ll use the same shipping tote to ship the failed unit back to us. After our warranty team receives the failed unit, they will inspect it and process the payout in about a week.
